TBR Jar #6: Has Won an Award

Woah, hello everyone. I haven’t posted in god knows how long. Don’t worry, you will be getting an update post in due time. Without further ado though, let’s into the introduction for this post.

I am finally back again with a TBR Jar pick. I haven’t done one of these in a while because of ARC reading and since my last one, I’ve really been in book moods where I know there’s a book that I want to read, so I read it. This time is because I haven’t finished a book in over a month and a half so I need to put that book down and start another one.

My fifth choice from my TBR Jar (which I have since redone since I wrote my last post) is… Has Won an Award. That means I just have to find a book on my TBR that has won an award, easy right? So to switch it up a bit, I went to Goodreads awards and found a book that one their Best Books of the Year award that I had on my shelf. I ended up with… The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins! It won Goodread’s Best Mystery & Thriller for 2015.

I’m so excited to read this one because I saw the movie when it came out (not knowing yet that there was a book for it) and the movie was amazing! I enjoyed it so much. So I can’t see how it was translated from the fiction, then watch the movie again, haha.

Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Until today

And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel goes to the police. But is she really as unreliable as they say? Soon she is deeply entangled not only in the investigation but in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?” – Goodreads

How I Got It

Back in July, I believe, I entered a giveaway from @theroadtohappypages on Instagram and I won! I got to choose out of a pile of books and I chose this one of course. Then a couple of weeks later in was in my mailbox and I was so happy! It also came with a cute card and page flags (which I’m in dire need of). So thank you so much to her again!

That’s all for today, folks! Hopefully I will be doing these more often and hopefully I’ll see you again soon. – Kambria
