Hey, everyone! How are you today? It is week 2 of August’s scavenger hunt and I forgot to mention last week that each week is connected to each other. Last week’s topic was find a book with flowers on the cover. So let’s get started.
This week’s topic is: Find a book with the same color on the background as the flowers from last week.
Riding the Odds by Lynda K. Scott
“An act of desperation
and the beginning of seduction…
Spaceship captain Tara Rowan has her secrets. One is her Rider, Zie. Zie is an organic symbiote—like a living tattoo—that enhances Tara’s physical abilities, including superhuman strength and reflexes. The other is the past she’s tried so hard to leave behind her. But it’s not until oh-so-sexy Trace Munroe decides to blackmail Tara that she realizes her secrets aren’t so secret after all…
Trace is a Holy Knight who does everything by the book. Desperate to find a missing princess, he’ll do whatever it takes to rescue her and bring her kidnappers to justice. Including blackmail. Yet something about the feisty ship captain draws Trace in and stirs his desire—even if she is a wanted criminal. Because the last thing he needs is any complications…especially when he has his own secrets to hide.” – Goodreads
How I Found It
Of course, on Goodreads I clicked on Browse, then I clicked on recommendations (as I tried to do last week) and went to the recommendations for my 3rd person limited shelf. (Yes, that is a shelf of mine). At first I clicked on one liking that it was in general blue, it was pretty too. But when I came back to put it in this post, I noticed that it wasn’t exactly the same blue as last’s week’s flower which was a couple of pics down from it (if you use WordPress you know what I’m talking about). So then I went back to Goodreads in search of another book on the same shelf that may work better and found it a couple of ways down.
Why I Chose It
I chose this cover over the other one because it was a deeper blue. Last week’s flower was deep but vibrant and I feel like it’s very close to it in the top left corner of this week’s cover. Also, I think it’s a brilliant color for the night sky like they have it. Then when I read the synopsis I agreed this was the right book because its a science fiction. I don’t often/ever mention science fictions for you guys on blog because they aren’t my favorite genre so I don’t often read them. So I thought I’d bring you guys a less well-known sci-fi for the sake of genre diversity on my blog.
That’s all for today, folks! I hope you enjoyed. Also, I’m changing basically the banner names for my Searching Saturday posts because it’ll be hard to get each week’s topic into 3-4 words, haha. Will you add this book to your TBR?
