Catching Up Saturday May 7

Hello again!

Catching Up Saturday is a series I just recently started on my blog to keep you guys updated on what I’ve been up to and to post more on this account, which I have already failed at, when I’m not reviewing books. These can be anywhere from super short to super long. Let’s get on with this edition of Catching Up Saturday

I finished Summer of Sloane just a few hours ago! I loved it so much and if you decide to read it, I hope you love it as much I do. I gave it a 5/5 stars which isn’t rare for me but if you knew what was going through my mind as I read, you would understand why this is such an amazing 5/5 stars read. This morning though, I got up at 7 o’clock in the morning to participate in my very first color run with Color Me Rad! I had so much fun. I went with my brother and his family, my aunt, my mom, and my close friend and her mom. I got so much color on me and my tutu (yes I wore a tutu) and enjoyed it so much. It is only 3.2 miles (5k) so it wasn’t hard for me to do. I did walk the whole time until the finish line, haha. It was such an amazing experience that I can’t want until next year to do the next one!

Sadly though, once I had been outside at a track meet, I think the dust from all the colors finally got to me along with all the pollen going around. I have been sneezing, tearing up, and runny nosed ever since I’ve gotten home. But I have my trusty tissues next to me to help me through the way. My mom bought me Allegra-D and didn’t work. It really sucks being basically immune to all medicine.

Yesterday was such an exciting day. Why? Because when I got home from school, a package from BookOutlet was waiting for me! This is an exclusive, even the people who follow me on Instagram don’t know what I got. So here it is:

bo

  • The Girl Behind the Glass by Jane Kelley (I read and loved it as a little girl and just had to pick it up again after I found it)
  • All American Boys by Jason Reynolds & Brenden Kiely
  • Landline by Rainbow Rowell (My second ever Rainbow book)
  • Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Ahhh! What a great set of books for such a cheap price. I am officially in love with BookOutlet. Definitely go check out their selection so you can fall in love too (but make sure your bank account is full… Because it won’t be when you’re done searching!) This caused to rearrange my bookshelf so that all my contemporaries could fit on the shelf.

Congratulations to Erin L. Schneider on Summer of Sloane coming out this past Tuesday (5/03). I hope many people pick it up and enjoy it as much as I did. But also, Happy Birthday to The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey! It was originally published on this day… 2 years ago (don’t quote me on that!). I actually really loved that book and can’t wait until The Last Star comes out later this month! I have to save up some money to make sure I can buy it as soon as it comes out.

Last on my list of things to fill you beautiful people in on is that I am still reading Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury for school and I am finally starting to enjoy it just a little bit. I do have to finish it this weekend so I have about 26 pages that I need to attack… Really soon. I will be glad to finish it when I do.

I have a question for everyone to answer (if you made it this far):

Since English is a required course in school, what books have you read for school and did you enjoy them? Why or why not?

See you again soon with another Catching Up Saturday or a book review… Buh-bye!
